I have known Elizabeth for years… I was her preceptor on my home nursing unit.  She is such a sweet young woman, with such a deep love and devotion to her family.  It was without a doubt that I would travel states to capture her big day.  We were blessed with a gorgeous fall day, something I don’t get to enjoy much in Lafayette, LA.  It was pretty chilly there in NC and the wind picked up a few times, but everyone kept smiling and enjoying the day :)  She picked the wedding location because it was sentimental to her family.  pre-ceremony (49) pre-ceremony (20) pre-ceremony (102) DSC_4816-4 pre-ceremony (278) pre-ceremony (162) DSC_4598-2 DSC_4587-1 DSC_5399-13 pre-ceremony (44) DSC_5234-9 DSC_5241-10 DSC_5082-6 DSC_5107-7 DSC_5385-12 DSC_5473-15 DSC_5626-18 DSC_5498-16 DSC_5580-17 DSC_5770-20 DSC_5783-21 DSC_6138-23 DSC_6833-25

Kaitlyn Maternity (25)Such a glowing gorgeous mamma to be.  I met this sweet couple at Moncus Park in Lafayette, LA.  It is one of my go to spots, as it is easy for people to find and the light is always beautiful…. oh and dogs are welcomed!!!  (oh and Don’s Seafood is just down the road and I love their JACKED UP SHRIMP OMG so good)

Side note: My children call Moncus “their Kingdom” ~ it is one of our favorite places to go and just BE.  The kids love the large oaks, and imagine that they are part of their castle walls.  Brings to mind the pages of Bridge to Terabithia for me.

When we were out at Moncus the weather was so lovely.  We really lucked out and the temperature was more fall like than wintery.  K was so pretty in her emerald green dress.  I seriously wish I had looked a fraction of that amazing while I was expecting.  I had more of a stuffed pepper vibe about me :)

Their sweet pup Denali was all about getting his moment to shine.  He is their first child after all.  And so well behaved!  I loved being able to incorporate him into their portraits.

Goal for 2018 blog!  My word it’s been nearly a year since I have typed up a page.  That’s what life with a 7, 5, and 1 year old will do to you.

In December, I spent a warm winter evening second shooting with Heather Romero Photography.  We had planned ahead for traffic, wrecks, and even the stray gator… and we made it in time!  What should have been an hour commute took us well over 3 hours.  Thank goodness for pre planning.  We spent the first portion of our evening with the girls.  Later, I rode with the girls on their party bus to the ceremony location while Heather went to meet the guys for their portraits.  The church was packed to the brim with loving friends and family.  One of my personal favorite moments was when Kelsey gave her father a gift just prior to him walking her down the aisle.  There wasn’t a dry eye to be had.
