Brittany’s Bridal Portraits, Wedding Photographer, Jungle Gardens Louisiana
Brittany messaged me and said she saw a low key vibe to her bridal session. Fairy in the woods. I got a very boho vibe in my mind. We met at Jungle Gardens aka Avery Island in New Iberia, LA.
I was taken aback at how gorgeous Brittany looked and how beautiful her beaded and lace gown was. Such a dress of my dreams. I often say if I ever could go back in time and redo my wedding dress it would be lace and beads.
I always like to take my time thru thru gardens, as there are so many places to capture amazing portraits. And every time that I am out there I am inspired by a new area, the way the light may be playing here or there. It is always an adventure.
We were about half way thru the gardens when I noticed the light playing thru some cypress trees. I had a vision in my mind, and was so blessed Brittany was game! SHE WENT BAREFOOT THRU THE DIRT for that particular shot. And the portrait turned out to be one of my all time favorites.
If you have never been out to Jungle Gardens, you can also expect a tour from me. I love to chit chat about the history of the garden and the various stops thru it. And you can not be timid about mosquitoes or gators or snakes. It is nature lol. I am a chicken … totally. So I do have a tendency to scream when I see snakes or gators lol. Or the random bug lands on me lol. I warn my clients in advance about my chickenlike tendencies lol. I also have a tendency to melt in Louisiana. I wasn’t born here. I was born up north. (Woodbridge, VA was once my home). And I do think that my personal melting point may be 64.5 degrees. It isn’t just the heat here, but the humidity as well. Bleh. And the day we shot Brittany’s bridals we ended with a thunderstorm. Luckily we were able to shoot the entire garden though!
The garden is filled with egrets, beautiful flowers, and even a centuries old Buddha statue. The garden changes thru the year of course, as all nature does. We were blessed when we captured Brittany’s bridals because the trees were blooming with the prettiest pink flowers. Loved that pop of color.
