Engagement Session Lafayette, LA photographer

I love new and unique locations. It stirs up the creativity while I push my personal limits. I captured Bailey and Kade at an old theater in Jennings, LA called The Strand. After we explored the stage, seating area, and stairwells, we headed down the road to take some images in the downtown area. We were blessed with the most amazing golden light for this session.

I love locations that are personal and hold meaning for my clients. It’s perfectly ok not to have a “spot” and I have a long list of amazing locations for clients to pick from. BUT if you have an idea in mind, throw it out to me! Wanna shoot at a your favorite pizza joint, art museum, theater? I love making the session 1000% yours 🙂

The theater holds a special place in my heart. As a young girl, I loved watching my uncle perform in various plays. I loved the energy, creativity, the experience of watching live actors amongst a sea of onlookers. When I entered high school, I signed up for theater. My sister had taken a class her 10th grade year, and just “knew” I would fall in love with the teacher Mrs Robinette, and that I would thrive in the setting. I quickly realized acting was not my forte. I am so super shy. BUT stage design and stage management became my passion. It was such an amazing three years to be a part of. I miss it dearly.

The bonus about doing your session in a theater is the ability to play with the stage lights, these looks are unique in each theater, as the lighting is unique in each theater.
