Kory’s Bridal Session Lafayette, LA Wedding Photographer
I never imagined when Mrs. Delahoussaye hired me to capture her granddaughter’s birthday party at Indulge a year ago, that I would come to feel so close to this sweet family. They are such a welcoming, caring, and dear family. Over the past year I have captured so many important moments in this families life. And it has been an honor to be trusted to do so.
When I first heard that Kory would be wearing her mother’s wedding dress my sentimental heart skipped a beat. I wondered how it would look though, I recall my own mother’s wedding gown and well folks it was the 70’s and the 70’s were… well… the 70’s. But y’all. I was just jaw to the floor when I saw the dress, and then jaw to the 1st floor of the Empire State Building when I saw Kory in the dress. It is as timeless as she is. So, not only did Kory take her bridal’s in her mother’s wedding gown, but we captured them on her father’s parents’ property. Could the sentimental details get any better!
The day we shot her bridals, the weather was picture perfect. The sun danced here and there. This allowed for some stunning silhouette images of Kory with her insanely long veil, some direct sun shots which made her brooch bouquet glisten like a Cullen, and it also allowed for some back-lit images as the sun started to set.
Kory is very easy going in front of the camera, and she was game for all of my off the wall ideas. I love playing with light and shadows, texture, and shapes. I have been dying to share this session. As an artist when you get to create something that makes your heart go pitter pat, you want to share the images as fast as you can upload them. But with bridal sessions you have to wait of course… sometimes for months… such long months!
Kory and Alix were wed on November 3rd at Southern Oaks Plantation. Be on the lookout for the blog post 😉
